Monsignor Farrell held off a sustained third-quarter run by Holy Trinity and grinded out a 41-40 win in a CHSAA A Division boys basketball match-up in Hicksville, Long Island on Saturday. The Lions saw their 35-26 lead with 2:50 left in the 3rd quarter evaporate after the Titans went on an 11-0 run that started with a 3-pointer by Nick McTighe and ended with 3-pointer by Tyler Small off of a brilliant assist by Cam Wynter, giving Trinity a 37-35 lead heading into the final frame.

Farrell faught back, holding the Titans to just three points in the fourth, all coming on free throws. The Lions got two huge 3-pointers from Jake Dunn and Jake Struthers in the fourth, Farrell's only points in the quarter. Trinity had a chance to win it on the last possession, but Farrell defended Cam Wynter's fall away baseline jumper in the closing seconds, giving the Lions a gutsy road win.
