Nazareth jumped out to a 17-1 lead and was in control throughout in an impressive 79-60 win over Bishop Loughlin in Brooklyn on Tuesday night. The Lady Kingsmen connected on ten 3-pointers in the game, seven coming in the first half. Alexis Sykes led Nazareth's strong start, scoring 15 first quarter points with four 3-pointers. Nazareth held the Lady Lions without a field goal for the first 6:00 of the game, giving them a commanding 24-5 lead heading into the second quarter.

After Emily Brown hit a 3-pointer to extend the Nazareth lead to 36-7, Loughlin fought back behind Lynette Taitt, who scored 10 second-quarter points, closing the half on a 13-4 run to narrow the margin to 40-20 at the break.

Behind Sykes, who scored 8 third-quarter points, Nazareth saw its lead balloon to 57-26 with 2:11 left, as the Lady Kingsmen opened the second half with a 17-6 run. Loughlin answered with a 12-2 run fueled by Taitt and Laysha De Los Santos, but the Lady Lions still trailed 59-38 heading into the fourth.

Taitt scored 13 fourth-quarter points and led a Loughlin rally that cut Nazareth's lead to 64-48 with 5:45 left. But that was as close as the Lady Lions would get, as a 3-pointer by Shania Springer made it 69-48 with 5:21 remaining and a 3-point play by Victoria Brown gave Nazareth a 74-51 lead with only 2:50 left.

Sykes had 24 points and Shonnyvelle Regalado had 13 points for Nazareth. Taitt had a game-high 29 points for Loughlin.
