Anthony Rose scored a game-high 37 points, as Fannie Lou Hamer cruised to a 72-40 win over Thomas Edison at the Queens Jam Christmas Classic at John Bowne High School on Sunday.

The Inventors were overwhelmed by the defensive pressure of the Panthers, as Fannie Lou jumped out to a 7-0 lead and  stetched the early margin to 15-3 on a drive by Frankie Williams.

A 3-point play by Malik Bentinck cut the lead to 15-7, but that was as close as Edison got in the game, as Fannie Lou coasted the rest of the way.

A dunk by Rose put the Panthers ahead 60-21 before Bentinck led a 16-4 run by Edison to make it 64-37 with 4:36 to play.

Fannie Lou closed the game on an 8-3 run.

Williams complimented Rose's 37 point performance with 19, while Bentinck led Edison with 18.

Fannie Lou Hamer was ranked 5th in New York State and ranked 2nd in New York City among Class B teams by the New York State Sportswriters Association on December 24th.
