Long Island Class B contender Portledge topped Springfield Gardens 81-56 at the Queens Jam Christmas Classic in Flushing on Saturday. Portledge, ranked 4th in New York State among Class B schools, got 28 points from Zaire Baines and 16 points from Anthony Follet in the win.

Portledge pulled away in the second half, outscoring Springfield Gardens 47-27 in the last 16 minutes. Aazayah Ross scored 14 points and Jahmir Primer added 11 for Portledge. Telisma Wood had 14 points for Springfield Gardens. The Golden Eagles are 3-5 in the PSAL Queens AA Division standings at the holiday break, and will resume league play next Friday, when they will visit Construction.
