Patrick Fleming had a game-high 24 points and Josh Alexander had 16 points, as Iona Prep defeated Holy Cross 70-61 in Queens on Tuesday. Iona Prep had a 16 point lead in the fourth quarter, but Holy Cross rallied late and cut the deficit to five on Chaz Platt's 3-pointer with about 2:30 left. Iona Prep closed out the win by scoring 15 of their 21 fourth quarter points at the free throw line. Platt had 15 points for Holy Cross. Iona Prep, currently ranked 16th in New York State and playing without an injured Ty Jerome, improves to 4-1 in CHSAA league play and 6-4 overall. Holy Cross is now 2-2 in CHSAA league play and 6-5 overall. Iona Prep visits Archbishop Stepinac on Friday and Holy Cross is home against St. Francis Prep.
