In a defensive battle, Iona Prep led Xaverian by a score of 25-24 at the end of the third quarter. Xaverian's 25 fourth quarter points exceeded its 24 point total for the first three quarters combined, with 17 of these final quarter points coming from the free throw line. Iona Prep, still playing without an injured Ty Jerome, was lead by Nick Brennen, who scored 13 points for the Gaels. Xaverian is now 4-3 in CHSAA league play and 8-4 overall, while Iona Prep is 5-3 in CHSAA league play and 7-6 overall. Xaverian's next game is Sunday, when it will take on Cardinal Hayes at home, while Iona Prep will face Bullis (Maryland) later today in the Big Apple Invitational at Baruch College.
