Patrick Fleming had a game-high 23 points to lead Iona Prep to a 63-47 win over All Hallows in the first round of the NY Archdiocese basketball tournament at St. Raymond on Sunday. Iona Prep jumped out to a 10-2 lead early, but All Hallows fought back, trailing 15-10 at the end of the first. After outscoring All Hallows 18-7 in the second quarter, Iona Prep took a 33-17 lead at the half and held onto a comfortable margin throughout the second half, although the game was never really out of reach for All Hallows, who played Iona Prep even (30-30) in the last two quarters. Nick Brennen had 11 points for Iona Prep, eight coming in the second half. Qwame Thompson had 15 points for All Hallows. Iona Prep will take on St. Raymond in the NY Archdiocese semifinals on Tuesday at Mount Saint Michael.
