Jordan Thomas had 18 points and Keith Williams had 14 points to lead Bishop Loughlin to a 73-65 win over St. Francis Prep in the first round of the Brooklyn-Queens Diocesan basketball tournament at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn on Monday. Loughlin led 33-23 at the half, but St. Francis Prep came back to cut the deficit to 47-45 at the end of the third. Loughlin put up 26 points in the fourth to hold off the Terriers, who got a game-high 22 points from Kyle Beeson. Loughlin got to the free throw line 41 times in this game, but connected on only 24 of those attempts (58.5%), while St. Francis Prep was 18-26 from the charity stripe (69.2%). Loughlin will face Christ the King in the Brooklyn-Queens Diocesan Semifinals at St. Francis Prep on Wednesday.
