Shamorie Ponds had 26 points to lead Thomas Jefferson in a thrilling comeback to defeat Cardinal Hayes 75-74 at the Big Apple Challenge at Baruch College on Sunday. Cardinal Hayes led by as many as 20 points and held a 14 point lead at the end of the third quarter. Ponds sparked the comeback and his three-point play on a driving score in the lane (see below) gave Jefferson a 75-74 lead in the closing seconds. Rasheem Dunn had 17 points and Curtis Smith had 14 points for Jefferson. Clive Allen had 23 points and made 15 of 16 free throws for Cardinal Hayes.
