It was the second straight win for the Lions, coming off an impressive one-point road win at Jefferson on Thursday. Playing in one of the toughest leagues in the city, the PSAL's Brooklyn AA, Brooklyn Collegiate dropped its league opener to defending PSAL champs and nationally-ranked South Shore.
Brown's four 3-pointers were the primary offensive spark for the Lions, complimented by perimeter scoring by Glen Anderson and dribble penetration from Majesty Johnson. Eagle Academy struggled to convert shots around the rim in the second half, and Brooklyn Collegiate put the game away after transition baskets by Simpkins late in the fourth. Anderson finished with 12 points and Johnson had 11 for the Lions. Demarco Watson had 12 for the Eagles.
