Malachi de Sousa had a game high 21 points, including 17 in the second half, to lead Kennedy Catholic over Monsignor Scanlan in a CHSAA A Division boys basketball match-up in the Bronx on Thursday night. After Kennedy Catholic held a 10-8 lead at the end of the first quarter, they outscored Scanlan 23-6 in the second to take a 33-14 lead at halftime and coast to a 69-51 win. Jordan Wright had 18 points and Kevin Buron had 15 points for Kennedy Catholic, who is currently ranked 6th in New York State Class A and is undefeated in CHSAA league play at 12-0. Saquan Singleton had 17 points for Scanlan, who played without standout point guard George Pena. Kennedy Catholic's next game is Saturday at Nazareth, while Scanlan will travel to Fordham Prep on Friday.
