It looks like Kennedy Catholic will have to defend its CHSAA A Division title without Dominick Cristiano and Elijah Hughes, both of whom are transferring to Prep School, according to a report by Josh Thomson of LoHud. Cristiano and Hughes were instrumental in Kennedy Catholic's amazing run last season, which ended in a loss to Canisius of Buffalo in the CHSAA A Division State Championship Game. The Gaels finished the season 26-2, with their only other loss coming on a last-second buzzer beater against Fordham Prep in the last game of the regular season.
Kennedy Catholic would have been a strong favorite to repeat as CHSAA A Division Champs, but without Cristiano and Hughes that will be a tougher challenge and may create greater competitive balance in the CHSAA A Division in the upcoming season.
