Archbishop Stepinac topped Christ the King 49-42 in the CHSAA Intersectional Semifinals at Carnesecca Arena in Queens on Wednesday March 8, 2023.
Christ the King took a 41-36 lead on Devin Vanterpool's 3-pointer with 5:01 left, but Stepinac came back to tie the game at 42 on a Braylan Ritvo 3-pointer at the 2:02 mark, Ritvo's second key triple down the stretch. The Crusaders closed the game on a 7-0 run, outscoring the Royals 13-1 over the last five minutes.
Danny Carbuccia scored a game-high 16 points and Boogie Fland had 11 for Stepinac.
Brandon Williams scored 13 points and Vanterpool finished with 12 for Christ the King.
