Archbishop Stepinac put up 48 second half points, pulling away from Brooklyn-Queens runner-up Xaverian en route to an 83-63 win in the CHSAA AA Quarterfinals at Fordham University on Sunday.
RJ Davis scored a game-high 31 points and Adrian Griffin Jr. recorded a double-double, netting 28 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, including an eye-popping left-handed follow-up slam late in the third quarter.

The Crusaders trailed 41-35 at the half, but outscored the Clippers 24-12 in the third and 24-10 in the fourth to advance to the CHSAA Semifinals on Thursday night, when they will take on Cardinal Hayes at Fordham University at 8:00 pm. Hayes advanced by defeating Mount Saint Michael 57-42 on Sunday.
Luke Fizulich added 13 points for Stepinac, with Davis, Griffin Jr. and Fizulich accounting for 72 of the Crusaders' 83 points. Stepinac went a perfect 14 for 14 from the free throw line, all of which were made by Davis (6), Griffin (6) and Fizulich (2).
Nicholas Folk led Xaverian with 12 points, while Isaiah Amazan and Zachary Hayn scored 11 each for the Clippers. Xaverian's senior center Michael Graham scored 10 points and had 7 rebounds.
