Loughlin raced out to a 14-6 lead in the opening eight minutes, but Iona Prep was able to slow the pace in the second, outscoring the Lions 17-12 in the frame to pull within three at 26-23 at the half. Keeshawn Jones (7), Isaac Gonzalez (5) and Marquis Dukes (5) combined for 17 of the Gaels' 23 first-half points.
